Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: To promote healthy living and a disease-free society, the Dawoodi Bohra’s Burhani College in Mumbai, in partnership with Lodge Friendship & Harmony Group, organised a free Multi-specialty Health Awareness and Screening Camp for students and citizens. The camp was organised as part of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India’s ‘RashtriyaPoshanMaah 2022’ or National Nutrition Month.
The camp aimed to ensure that all patients can benefit from health professionals linked to post-diabetic medical conditions in Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, ENT and overall well-being.
“These camps allow us to learn more about our health. In our busy lives, we often neglect our well-being, which helps us refocus on our holistic well-being. The doctors were very friendly and accommodating and have helped us see the downside to diabetes and related risks.” Shared Rashida Borsadwala, a faculty member of Burhani College.
Multi-specialty doctors like Dr. Huzeifa Husein, Dr. Abizer Manked, Dr. Ummehani Jagmag, Dr. JaggerhuseinSura, and Dr. Avais Pathan consulted and diagnosed more than 110 people on their health issues.
“The Health Camp was well organised, and it was a pleasure to be part of such a camp”, said Dr. Avais Pathan, consultant diabetologist and a metabolic physician.
“We thank the college management for such a noble and beneficial initiative. These programs ensure that we remain motivated and keep our health to perform better, “says Padma Mandavkar, a non-teaching staff member of the College.
Murtaza Mandasaurwala, Coordinator at Burhani College, said, “Besides promoting healthy living, the camp also provided a platform for the College to bond with neighbours and other stakeholders. Special thanks to our College Trustees, along with our Deans Dr. Talib Yusuf and Dr. Huzefa Bhagat, for initiating such socio-welfare programs regularly to different sections of society.
